Dear Brethren in Christ,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We pondered much in writing this letter and with prayer. This is done with sincere love and truth. (I Cor 13:5-7). First, we wish to inform you that the owrk here is getting harder. Through the years we have ups and downs, discouragements and encouragemetns but God blessed our efforts and the borders of His Kingdom had broadened continuously here. We want to make a special mention, Brother Rody C. Gumpad who brought the pure Gospel here in Cagayan area. We appreciate him for his great love and concern on the Lord's work. He had been an encouragement, comforter and adviser to Gospel preachers here. He had been respected through the past years. God knows his tireless efforts for the Lord's Cause. (Hebrew 6:10)

However, things and events are very different now and this is our great concern. Their (Rody C. Gumpad and wife Tessie) actions and lifestyles had changed and places the Lord's Cause in bad light before all and this is vitally affecting the kingdom of God and the salvation of souls. They are now very materialistic. Our efforts are now adversely affected. It is no longer the outsider who is the source of discouragements but it is already Brother Rody C. Gumpad and his wife Tessie who were previously respected and love by many. We have also shortcomings and we are not perfect (Rom. 3:23) but this is a serious aspect that we want you brethren and us help him. We love Brother Rody Gumpad and we don't want him to be lost. it is all about the love of Money (I Tim 6:10) and self-denial that they are in question. (Matt 16:24-26, Mark 8:34-37). He is the talk of the brethren, the talk of the people. They want to be somebody in the community. They even want to be to the United States of America just to be somebody to those who know them. This letter is not aimed to destroy the reputation of Brother Rody C. Gumpad and it is not jealousy or enviousness but a concern on the Lord's work here and the Lord's money. We and others, saints and non-saints are wondering how Bro. Rody Gumpad acquired or accumulated his properties in just a few years. We are happy for his material progress but he and his wife Tessie Gumpad had changed a lot to the detriment of the Lord's Work.

The following are undeniable lifestyes and properties acquired in few years about 3 to 5 years span, in addition to their existing house and lot:

  1. Luxurious living and pompous celebrations during birthdays and other occasions which the rich people can only afford.
  2. His house is loaded with appliances with 3 television sets.
  3. A 900-square meter residential lot bought in cash at P337,500 (about $13,500) and immediately rounded up with concrete fence costing more or less P60,000 (about $2,400). This is located just at the back of their existing old house.
  4. Bought in cash a farmland worth P80,000 (about $3,200) located at Nangalisan, Solana, Cagayan.
  5. A 400-square meter residential lot located at Atulayan, Tug.
  6. Bought in cash a second hand car worth P70,000 (about $2,800)
  7. Replaced and repainted his old Tamaraw worth P160,000 about ($6,400)
  8. Bought in cash a Motor Cycle with side Car worth P60,000 about ($2,400)
  9. He leased at least a hectare of farmland
  10. He is a money changer.
  11. Presently constructing a two-storey residential building estimated to cost P1,000,000 the least on rough finish. (about $40,000). He is announcing that they will transfer by this coming June. What the brethren cannot take here is that his intention to demolish their old house. What a big waste of Lord's Money. There are brethren who are struggling to have a house and here is a fellow destroying a house.

These properties are acquired since Jay-Arch, their son who had a cancer begun medication. he made a successful business out of his son. And beware Brethren, he has a new business again. One of his daughters, Kathleen has a sickness and emphasizing that it will take years to medicate her. Presently, we believe that Bro. Rody C. Gumpad is even richer and living much comfortably than those who are supporting him.

Brethren, please help us. We want to be united and have cohesive efforts once again to push the pure Gospel here in Cagayan. Help us to rebuke Bro. Rody Gumpad of his too much materialistic and help us to save his soul.
